About Us

Welcome to Highspire Volunteer Fire Department

Purpose and Mission:
The Purpose and Mission of Citizens Fire Company No. 1 of Highspire, PA shall be: In a time of need, night or day, we shall respond to protect life or property of any citizen in Highspire or any other community. We shall strive to provide the highest level of service to the department and community. Through training, hard work, and dedication we are BATTLE TESTED, BATTLE PROVEN. This mission shall also include the performance of other charitable acts and public service that may aid in the welfare of the people of the Borough of Highspire and the surrounding vicinity.

Services shall be provided primarily to residents of the Borough of Highspire and the surrounding vicinity served by the organization; to employees, while working at the businesses located in these areas; to transient persons in need of the organization's services; and to others who are in neighboring areas at the time of need for the organization's services.

The Citizens Fire Company No. 1 strives to provide the best possible Fire, Rescue/EMS, and Haz-Mat Operations Level protection to the residents, employees, visitors of Highspire and surrounding communities. We also strive to provide the best possible Fire Prevention Education to our community and surrounding areas.
General Information:
The Citizens Fire Company No. 1, Inc. of Highspire (Highspire Fire Department) is a non-profit organization, located in the Borough of Highspire, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania, USA. Highspire is a small Borough, only 0.7 square miles, located roughly seven and a half (7.5) miles Southeast of Harrisburg, the Capitol of Pennsylvania. The population of Highspire is estimated to be around the area of 2,400(+/-) residents, as of the last census.

The Highspire Fire Department (HFD) responds to an average of roughly a little over two hundred (200) calls for service each year, with a great deal of them being automatic aid or mutual aid calls to surrounding municipalities and to neighboring Cumberland, Lebanon, York and Lancaster Counties (all of which are located in Pennsylvania).
