Today (July 26, 2021) Company 55 was invited to Lower Swatara Fire Department (Company 59) for training. Both Engine 55 with a crew of five and Engine 55-1 with a crew of four, as well as Interim Chief Condran accepted the offer; the training was quite helpful as it was also utilized as a Drivers Training opportunity for Lt. Cleland (Engine 55) and SO Rittner (Engine 55-1). Upon arrival at Company 59, Chief 59-1 (D. Phillips) greeted us and informed everyone that we would be doing basic rig familiarization, so that we could learn where various tools and equipment are stored in case we ever need to assist each other on Fire/Rescue scenes. The crews from Company 55 were given a walk around show and tell of Company 59s Engine, Tanker, and Rescue, while Company 59 was given a walk around show and tell of both Engines 55 and 55-1. We would like to thank Chief Phillips and the rest of the Officers and Members of Company 59 for extending the offer to Train with them—we are looking forward to bettering our Automatic and Mutual Aid partnership with Company 59 and all of our other Automatic and Mutual Aid Companies.
